to do simple dance combinations and routines;
they choreograph and perform original dances and
movement studies alone and in groups. Skills learned in the
artistic process reinforce literacy, critical thinking, and
problem-solving and other learning abilities. Through movement
exploration children show understanding of and give meaning to
topics studied in the classroom. Music, visual arts, theatrical
arts and creative writing can be integrated into the
project.

Early childhood through middle/ junior high
Options:

Time Frame: Minimum 5 days, but 10 or more days are
recommended. Artist does 3 or 4 one-hour sessions per day.
Pre-planning and mid-residency planning sessions with staff required.
School needs to designate planning team and contact person.
Facility requirements - large open room (large classroom, gym or
multi-purpose room) with clean uncluttered floor. Group size no more
than 30 at a time.
